Personal history: A nomad who loves the smell of blood, he travels from place to place, treating hunting as a game which he never wishes to end. He often toys with victims before draining their blood. He died when attempting to kill Bella, because Emmett and Jasper ripped his body and burned the remains. However, what they were unaware of was that the ashes spread to a nearby graveyard. Cosmic lightning struck them, and reformed them into a slightly disfunctional version of the original James. He has total amnesia, except for one event: the moments before his destruction, and the fact he is a vampire. James wishes to restart his favourite pastime of hunting.
