Alice crept slowly in the dark shadows of Port Angeles, on the lookout for the man she kept seeing in her visions. Turns out she was mistaken the first time, it wasn't Jasper in her first vision. Then a week ago Alice began having visions like she did in '48, and it confused her greatly. That's when she noticed the shape of the nose, the structure of his face, his eye color...it wasn't Jasper. The terror when Alice realized this overcame her, and she secluded herself down by the beach so she could think everything out. Now she's come to grips with her mistake, and began searching for the man who had haunted her visions day and night.

She entered a night club silently, flashing her ID and ever-charming smile at the bouncer, who let her in without fail. Filled with anticipation, Alice headed to the bar and took at seat, still looking for him. She sighed, knowing that no matter how she approached him, he'd know what she was and would promptly stake her. Jasper didn't know where she was, he just knew she was out for the night. And might not make it back in the morning. She continued her search for the Jasper look-a-like, wondering where her sanity had went, stalking a vampire hunter. Maybe she should have brought Joan along, but that would have required going to the East Coast and bringing her back to Forks. Which Joan wouldn't have gone for, especially not the whole suicidal-chasing-hunters bit of Alice's plan. So Alice was alone, Rosalie had offered to come, but Alice declined, not wanting Rose to get killed as well, Emmett would hate her forever. She glanced around the club, wondering where the hunter was, quite confident she'd run into him soon.

Rosalie was pacing. 'WHY WOULDN'T ALICE LET ME GO WITH HER! I know she can see the future and everything, but it doesn't mean she won't need backup! This is a vampire hunter after all!' Rosalie worried.

She walked over to Emmett, and sat down on the couch next to him. "Why is Alice always so reckless?"

"Rosie, chill," Emmett replied as he wrapped an arm around Rosalie's shoulders. "Alice knows what's she's doing, let's just trust her judgment, she IS the one with psychic powers."
'But all the same, I'm relieved that Rosie didn't go as well,' Emmett thought, grateful that Alice made Rosalie stay home.

"I know, but I still worry about her. But I guess you're right, if she needed help, she would ask." Rosalie said as she leaned into Emmett. 'But still she doesn't always see everything! Sometimes she has gaps in her visions, and sometimes they change!' "But at least you're here. If you weren't here, I would have followed her."

Emmett looked over at Rosalie worriedly, "But why? Doesn't she have Jasper with her?"

Then he remembered the fight Alice and Jasper had had earlier that day. 'Did Jasper really let Alice go after a vampire hunter alone? What the hell?' It dawned on him. "Rosie, does Jasper know where exactly Alice is going?"

"I think so...WAIT! They fought right before she left!" Rosalie said as she looked up at Emmett worriedly. "Where is he! I think we should go find him and let him Know what Alice is doing." Now Rosalie was in a panic. Why the hell did Alice leave without telling Jasper! She always told him stuff like this before! Even when they fought!

Emmett glanced out the window anxiously. "I don't think we should tell Jazz just yet, I think we should just chill," he fought to keep the panic out of his voice. "Alice will come home soon, and then we can tell Jasper."

'Great plan, but what if she never comes home?' he fretted, then said aloud, "Let's just go find Alice and bring her home, maybe we can talk this all out."

"Ok fine, we'll go get Alice and not tell Jasper for a century or two," Rosalie said. 'Well it's better than doing nothing I suppose, but I still think I should have just gone with her from the biginning.'

"Right, let's go!" Emmett exclaimed as he rose from the couch and extended his hand to Rosalie. "You ready babe?"

'I really don't want her to come along, but she's dead set on going, he thought as he looked over at Rosalie. "You sure you wanna come along? I can always go alone."

"Do you really think i'd let you go without me? And of course im ready i was already packed when Alice said 'No'."She said as she toke his hand and stood up. ' I wonder if he really thought i would just stay home and wait while he went alone?'

"Alright," Emmett said as he headed out to the garage. "Your car or mine?"

'Great, now I have to worry about her AND Alice,' he complained internally. "Where IS Alice?"

"My car, and I think she said something about Port Angeles when I asked her earlier," she said as she entered the garage and started walking to her car.

Chase lounged at the bar, sipping his Corona without a care in the world. He put on a good front when it came to interacting with the general public. But inside, his emotions were in a complete turmoil. He grinned weakly, trying not to let the threatening thoughts overtake him.

'Can't afford to kill anyone at the moment by losing control,' he thought bitterly as he gulped down the rest of his beer before tapping the bottle on the bar, alerting the bartender to get him another one.

He leaned back in his seat, stretching his arms over his head when he heard someone ask him, "Mind if I sit here?"

He turned a bit to see a pretty brunette dressed in nothing more than a pink slip with glitter in her hair and scotch thick on her breath. He nodded, saying nothing as he watched the bottom of the dress hitch higher up her thighs as she sat down, leaning her arms on the bar counter.

She asked slyly, whipping her hair so it fell seductively over one side of her face, "Do you come here often?"

'Ah, the desperate bar girl routine,' he thought as he took the Corona from the bartender and observed the brunette ordered a shot of sangria. 'Desperate drunk bar girl. Even more fun...'

Chase told the brunette as he stood up, placing a twenty on the counter, "I'm here on business. Now if you'll excuse me-"

"Wait!" The brunette clawed at him before he could walk away. However, she was clumsy that she "accidentally" spilled her drink on his shirt. "Oh my god!" she apologized profusely, "I'm so sorry! Here let's take it off..."

Chase rolled his eyes, mildly irritated at the girl's attempts to get in his pants; tonight was not a good night for this. He held her roaming hands and placed them at her sides, saying, "The only chance you'd ever have with me is if you were level-headed woman, preferably with red hair. Now go fuck some other business man."

And with that, he pushed his way out of the club, looking for the closest exit so he could get a breath of fresh air, clear his head... 'And hopefully not snap and kill everybody.'

'That's our man,' Alice thought grimly as she hopped off her bar stool, being vaguely reminded of the time she met Jasper, but shook it off. She then followed the young hunter, wondering what the hell she was going to do. 'Well, direct contact is suicide, but how do I meet this guy? Just trip and fall on him?' she wondered, unknowingly getting closer and closer to her target while she mused.

And that's when Chase noticed it. The familiar rock cold against his skin. He whipped around quickly and faced the young vampire. She was a beautiful sight indeed but that didn't make her any less of a threat.

He clenched his jaw, flexing his fingers towards his pockets reaching for his deadly, needle like stakes. 'Goddammit, and she had to be in public... Well, it's a club so I could drag off her body, saying she was too drunk and passed out...'

Alice's eyes widened, knowing that he was reaching for his needle stakes. "Oh, no you don't!" she growled as she grabbed a random person from the bar, not noticing who she had taken hold of. "I think we should talk, or I decide that I'm thirsty," she hissed at Chase, narrowing her golden eyes. "What do you think?"

Chase growled a bit at her threat but noticed a giant, significant flaw in it.

Her golden eyes.

He grinned arrogantly, sliding several stakes into his sleeve discreetly for later, as he told her, ignoring the drunk who was trying to grind into the pixie vampire, "Really, Ms. Vegetarian? You'd eat a human even though you've made a pact with your clan leader to never harm one EVER again? It seems like a lose-lose situation for you.

"You see, either I kill you here and now whether you harm the innocent or not, or your clan comes after you for breaking your pact. Your choice, girlie."

'This ought to be interesting,' he thought lazily, feeling a surge of power rush through him from the thought of a possible fight with a vampire. It almost made him forget about his crappy day.

"My clan leader?" Alice scoffed. "Please. Even though they would be upset, I doubt they'd come after me. We're not like werewolves, always sticking together. We go our different ways when our interests clash."

She continued glaring at him, noticing how similar yet different his looks were as compared to Jasper. 'Huh, no wonder I got the two mixed up,' she mused. "So, care to rethink that thought, Mr. Hunter?"

"If that's so, why don't you do it? Bite the human, what will come of it? You going against your own beliefs just to prove me wrong? And even more so proving that you are indeed a monster, no matter how much you try to hide it while feeding off of deer and other harmless animals?"

Chase egged her on, watching the vampire falter with the confused drunk, who was trying to get away from the pissed off vampire. 'Stupid vampires and their fake humanity... Just give up and accept death already, lady. I've got a hotel bed, calling my name.'

Alice cocked her head to one side as she looked at the mysterious vampire hunter. "If I bite him, right out here in the open, I would expose myself, giving you an excuse to kill me. Yet, using an innocent gives me leverage against you. It'd be best if we take this outside." With that, she turned and began dragging the drunk with her to the nearest exit.

Chase grumbled but followed the vampire closely, making sure she didn't make any sudden moves to kill anyone. 'Of course, if she did, she'd be dead in a matter of seconds,' he argued logically.

Suddenly, the drunk began to struggle, complaining that he wanted to stay where the party's at and that there was no booze outside and it made Chase chuckle. 'Wow, vampire, could you have picked a more easily agitated party-goer? He ought to have lots of fun outside.'

Alice glared at the drunk. 'Damn, should've picked the passed out guy,' she internally bitched. She pressed a pressure point on his neck firmly, knocking him out without killing him.

The small vampire glared at the chuckling hunter, mentally vowing to kill him is he didn't shut up. "You're very curious for a human, you know. Most of them would have asked me what I wanted. Not you. Why is that? Are you so focused on killing that you're inhuman?"

Chase shook his head, watching the human go limp in the vampire's arms, 'That could be a problem later on... Stupid, stupid vampire.'

He answered her shortly, "You're accusing me of being inhuman?" 'Oh, the irony...'

"And besides, we wouldn't be in this mess if you hadn't come here to find me in the first place, now would you? So, you should be the one explaining why you're going through all this goddamn trouble to talk to me, not asking me questions."

"Yes, I suppose I am," Alice told him, then tried to figure out exactly what to say. 'If I just blurt out I love him, then I get staked. If I beat around the bush, then I get staked.'

"Um, well, you see, I'm a clairvoyant," she began hesitantly, "And I saw that we're destined for each other..." She glanced down at the drunk in her arms, wondering why the hell she was doing this. 'Run, just go home!' she mentally screamed as she gazed at the hunter in front of her.

"... You saw that we were... destined for each other?" Chase said slowly in disbelief, "And you risked your life on that whim?" He began to laugh a bit, still in prime stance to take down the vampire, "Are you serious? How reliable are your visions?"

'This vampire keeps getting stupider and stupider by the minute.'
