Jasper thought for a moment before answering quietly, "Unless they have an interest in Joan, the worst they could do is threaten our lives and end hers, which means we'll either be killed or at the very least, have to move again.

"But at this point in time, I'm not sure entirely," he turned to her with an encouraging smile, "Maybe you do?"

Alice sighed and slowly began to search the future...

Aro stood before her, gesturing grandly, "Alice, I'm sorry, but you're going to have to either join us so we can watch you, or die. I understand Jasper came along?"

Alice swallowed nervously, "No, Aro, I am alone. Please don't hurt Jasper or Joan, or any of the Cullens. It's all my fault, punish me instead."

Aro contemplated this, "Very well. Come along, dear, you're now one of us." He began leading her out of the meeting room.

She snapped out of her reverie with a start, "They're...they're going to pardon us all," she lied smoothly, calmly meeting Jasper's eyes. "So, nothing to worry about, right?"

Jasper knew Alice was lying. 'Does she forget that I can read her emotions and therefore pick up on when she's not being truthful with me?' He pondered as he asked curiously, "Really? Well, mind telling me how we manage that?"

"Well, you see, we'll use my charms and your powers to make them love us," Alice smiled. "Do you doubt me?"

Hell, I think he's on to me! Just stay calm, girl! she told herself.

"So I'm going to make them feel all warm and mushy about us? And that's what will make them not do anything?" Jasper asked in disbelief, "Don't they have guards who can deflect my power and see through my true intentions?"

'Like what you're doing now? Trying to keep me out of harm's way by putting yourself in there instead? Silly Alice, it's better if we work together anyway.'

"They won't have the guard with them, the Volturi know us, we're not in any danger," Alice fibbed a little. "And not just you, I'm charming, too!"

Haha, I love Jazz and all, but doesn't he know I'm prepared for all his questions? she smiled to herself, her plan working.

Jasper looked her over, hard but could no fault in her words.

'Even if her emotions betray them,' he thought as he leaned over to peck her sweetly on the lips. He pulled away, saying, "If you say so... And you are usually right about these things."

Alice kissed Jasper back, feeling a small twinge of guilt at lying to him. Why do I deserve a guy like Jasper? I'm terrible, he KNOWS I'm lying, so why bother? I seem to have gotten away with it...for now...

"Are we going to meet with the Volturi immediately after arrival?" she asked him. "Or are we going to take the time to prepare?"

"I think we should prepare... Unless you think it's better if we meet them head-on?" Jasper asked, watching the clouds float above the windows as they began their descent.

"No, we'll need the time anyway," Alice looked out the window. Right...time to sneak away and meet them alone. I'm not letting him get hurt, not because of me, she thought.

Jasper shrugged, extending a hand as they were letting the passengers off, "Should we get a hotel room or an ocean side villa?"

---------------Back in Forks-----------------

Joan woke up, covered in a thick wool blanket and on the couch. 'Last night, I...' Flashes of memory started going through her head but they suddenly stopped when she muttered the name, "Alice."

"Is currently on her way to Italy with Jasper to make one of the stupidest decisions in her life," Edward's melodic voice came from across the room.

Joan literally jumped out of her skin at his sudden presence and asked quietly, unsure of whether her father was awake or not, "Edward, what are you doing here?"

He threw a duffel bag at her feet, telling her hurriedly, "Get cleaned up quick. Our flight leaves in an hour."

Joan nodded dumbly, walking towards the bathroom to clean up her face as she thought, 'So she really is going through with her plan to stop the Volturi to killing me... But isn't she going to die too?'

"Not if we don't make it in time," Edward called out impatiently.

Joan rolled her eyes, threw her dirty clothes in the laundry basket and picked up her duffel bag, walking out of the bathroom to join Edward in the foyer. She held up her keys and asked, "Your ride or mine?"

"Mine, of course," he answered, opening the door for her as they walked out into the pouring rain towards Edward's Volvo.

"I already rented the villa," Alice smiled as she took Jasper's hand. Which will be easier to escape from, she added to herself. "When will we actually go to them? I don't mind when, I already know who wins," she chuckled to herself.

Jasper led her out of the parking lot towards a rental Porsche, waiting for them. Before they got in, he pulled her towards him and kissed her passionately, holding her achingly close.

'Please don't do anything without me, Alice,' he prayed in his head as he was kissing the love of his life. He pulled away and brushed some strands of hair from her face, saying seductively, "Well, I have been missing our alone time... Especially in the bedroom."

Alice kissed Jasper back just as passionately, feeling extremely guilty over what she was about to do.

"As have I," she smiled up at her husband, then got into the Porsche. "We're not actually doing any preparation tonight, are we?"

Dammit, I hate when he acts all romantically sexy like this, it makes it THAT much harder to leave him! she bitched on the inside.

Jasper grinned, climbing in as they drove off to the ocean side villa. He commented, "Only if you need preparation. I don't think I can be very patient waiting for what we're going to do tonight if that hints at anything."

'Why does this always happen under all the worst circumstances?' He sighed inwardly before allowing himself a grin, 'Well, at least I get her all to myself tonight...'

"No, I don't, at least not until tomorrow," Alice giggled at the prospect of finally having Jasper alone, with no one else with them. She held Jasper's hand in hers, smiling as she drove to the villa. "What do you think the others are doing now?" she asked as she drove, to keep her mind off tomorrow.

Jasper shrugged, "I honestly have no idea nor do I care because I care about right now," he reached over and whispered in her ear, "Right here with you. It's where I belong always and forever." He kissed her cheek affectionately, as if to seal the promise.

(OOC: Edward and Joan won't come into much later on so don't be expecting me to write a lengthy post about what's going on with them right now. XD)

Alice smiled, diverting her glance from the road for a moment to gaze into Jasper's amber eyes. "I love you," she whispered as she gave him a quick kiss, and turned her attention back to the road, smiling. "We're nearly there," she announced happily. "Just a few more minutes..."

Jasper grinned dangerously, "For someone who's lived for eternity, I cannot any patience in me to wait to get out of the car and into the bedroom. I might just ravish you here." He winked jokingly at his wife.

Alice laughed. "I don't think the car could handle that," she chuckled. "And anyway, we're here," she pulled up to the ocean side villa, getting temporarily distracted by the ocean. "Oh, wow...it's amazing," Alice breathed as she took it all in.

I wish this moment could last forever, and I didn't have to leave Jasper, and the Volturi won't kill me, and we all live happily ever after.

Jasper joined Alice at her side and stared out at the vast, sparkling ocean. He chuckled a bit, wrapping a strong arm around her waist, "I don't think it's fair that the ocean has to compete with your beauty..."

Alice melted into Jasper's embrace, smiling contentedly. "Why, thank you, my dear," she whispered, then kissed him lightly on the lips. "Shall we go in?" she nodded towards the villa. "I thought you said you couldn't wait...?"

Jasper gave a heart-breaking smile before picking up Alice bridal style and carrying her through the threshold. "Just like old times, huh?" He whispered nostalgically as he walked into the master bedroom and placed Alice on the bed, climbing on top of her.

"Are you ready or do you have to prepare?" Jasper asked, leaning down to kiss her once more.

"I'm as ready as you are," Alice said, kissing Jasper as she began to undo his shirt buttons. "We have all tomorrow to prepare for the Volturi, right?"

You know, you should have said yes, slipped out of the house, and run off to meet them, stated the Rosalie voice. But noooooo, your freaking hormones screw it up!

Oh, like you wouldn't be doing the same thing with Emmett? Alice replied.

Well, yeah, I would, but I wouldn't be talking to the voices in my head during it, the Rosalie voice pointed out. You know, there's something to be said about a girl who fantasizes about her adoptive sister while making out with her husband...

Shut up! Alice mentally yelled at the imaginary Rosalie and turned her attention back to kissing Jasper intensely as though there was no tomorrow, which she doubted there would be. For her, at least.

Jasper stretched his arms over his head as he sat up in the bed, his wife still leaning on his side from earlier events. He smiled at her, leaning over to kiss her sweetly, "It's been a while hasn't it? I've forgotten how much stamina you have..."

He pushed some stray hair out of her face, thinking with a smile, 'She looks absolutely gorgeous even when she's not wearing the latest trends or newest fashions... I dare say that she probably looks best natural, like this.' He pulled up the covers around them and laid them back down again, sighing contently.
